We are delighted to share the wonderful experience of VW.Bro Paul Reeves, Chairman of the TLC Essex Appeal, who attended a meeting of Old Southendian Lodge No. 5403 at Saxon Hall on 17th May 2024. This visit was particularly significant as it provided an opportunity to personally thank the lodge for their early and generous donation.
In January 2024, Old Southendian Lodge No. 5403 was one of the first lodges to donate £500 to the TLC Essex Appeal. However, due to a diary conflict, VW.Bro Paul was unable to attend their March meeting to express his gratitude in person. His recent visit allowed him to address this oversight and share the impact of their contribution.
During the meeting, VW.Bro Paul gave a short address about the TLC Essex Appeal, highlighting the positive impact of the teddies on children in hospitals. Following his address, W.Bro James Courtenay, PProvGStwd (Lodge DC), shared a heartfelt story about his own son, William. The three-year-old had recently been rushed to Southend Hospital in distress, but his tears were quickly replaced with a smile when he received a red TLC Teddy.
This touching story underscored the real-life impact of the lodge's generosity, bringing the mission of the TLC Essex Appeal to life for all in attendance. Following this, VW.Bro Paul had the pleasure of presenting the Worshipful Master, W.Bro Victor Crowhurst, PPDepGReg, with a certificate to acknowledge their significant contribution.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Old Southendian Lodge No. 5403 for their support and generosity. Your contributions make a tangible difference in the lives of children and their families during challenging times.
Thank you, brethren, for your unwavering support. Together, we continue to bring comfort and joy to young hearts across Essex.
