Saint Cedd Lodge No 6519 recently celebrated its annual Burns Night in a spirit that not only honored Scottish tradition but also embraced the essence of charity and community.
This year's festivities held a special significance as the lodge extended its generosity towards TLC (Teddies for Loving Care) Essex, embodying the Masonic principle of charity in action.
The evening was marked by camaraderie and goodwill as members gathered to commemorate the life and works of the renowned Scottish poet, Robert Burns. Amidst the traditional haggis, bagpipes, and toasts, the lodge took a moment to reflect on their commitment to supporting those in need within their community.
A highlight of the event was the announcement of a significant donation of £1057.50 to TLC Essex. This generous contribution was made possible through the collective efforts of the lodge, with £200 initially donated by the members and additional funds raised through a raffle and auction during the festive board. The Chairman of TLC Essex, Very Worshipful Brother Paul Reeves, graced the occasion with his presence and expressed his profound gratitude for the lodge's generosity.
In recognition of their exemplary support, Saint Cedd Lodge No 6519 was presented with a Bronze Patron certificate by Very Worshipful Brother Paul Reeves. This acknowledgment not only symbolises the lodge's commitment to Service but also serves as a testament to the enduring bond between Freemasonry and charitable endeavors.
As the evening came to a close, there was a sense of fulfillment knowing that the spirit of giving had enriched both the Burns Night celebration and the lives of those supported by TLC Essex. Saint Cedd Lodge No 6519 exemplified the true essence of Freemasonry, where tradition and compassion intertwine to make a meaningful impact on the community.
