For many years, I have had the pleasure of attending the annual Burns Night meeting at Saint Cedd Lodge No. 6519, which meets in Upminster. This year’s visit was particularly special, as I was delighted to bring Big Ted along to share in the evening’s celebrations.
Saint Cedd Lodge has been a wonderful supporter of the TLC Essex Teddies Appeal for some time. At their Burns Night meeting in 2024, the lodge reached Bronze Patron status, recognising their generous support of the appeal. Since then, the continued kindness and generosity of the brethren has seen their donations grow to an impressive £2,500.
This remarkable milestone means that Saint Cedd Lodge has now achieved TLC Essex Silver Patron status, making them only the sixth lodge in the Province to reach this level of support.
The evening itself was very well attended and thoroughly enjoyable. Congratulations are due to the Worshipful Master, W.Bro Guy Wade, and his officers for conducting an excellent Initiation Ceremony for Bro Brett, which was carried out in a most impressive manner.
Following the ceremony, it gave me great pleasure to present the lodge with their TLC Essex Silver Patron Certificate, recognising the outstanding support they have shown to the appeal.
Every donation helps ensure that TLC Teddies continue to be available in Emergency Departments and Paediatric units across Essex, where they provide comfort and reassurance to children during what can often be frightening or distressing moments.
Our sincere thanks go to the brethren of Saint Cedd Lodge for their continued generosity.
Thank you, brethren. 🧸
